Diig.io is a lightweight tool for extractive transparency. The Engine Room and the Namibian Institute for Public Policy Research worked together to build a data model and searchable platform of petroleum exploration licences in Namibia, to power investigative journalism and advocacy for stronger resource governance. Through the replication sprint process, The Engine Room worked with new partners to build two similar platforms. Below you will find links to the new licencing platforms of Citizens for Justice, Oxfam Malawi, and the Zimbabwe Environmental Law Association, who advocate for more transparent target mineral extraction in Malawi and Zimbabwe. The data in these platforms are the foundation for future work to collect, organise and analyse additional information about extractive governance, so watch this space.
